Living aboard Dewi Nusantara is as close to a five star experience as is possible in the faraway corners of the Indonesian archipelago.
With an overall length of 57 meters, our three masted topsail schooner moves with a grace and stability that only larger sailing vessels can offer. 2000 square meters of sail are complemented by two 500 horsepower marine engines and two desalinators that each produce 5000 liters of fresh water per day. We purposely designed the Goddess of the Archipelago to be totally independent for long periods at sea while offering unparalleled comfort. There are eight spacious air-conditioned staterooms, that can be adapted to either twin or double use, each with its own en suite bathroom. The master and commanders’ cabin aft is the size of a large hotel suite.
The lower deck is our main cabin area with four Deluxe Staterooms on the port side and four on starboard. All Deluxe Staterooms are adaptable for either twin or double use. Each has its own en-suite bathroom (4,5m by 1,3m), reading lights, 220V power points and hanging storage for clothing. If you like to work in privacy on your laptop the room offers a comfortable desk. There is ample additional storage in the wardrobe for all personal belongings. We offer a special metal flasks for drinking water and these can be replenished from the main supply in the lounge or dive centre.
The Master Suite in the aft quarters of the main deck is the signature room of the ship and is a marvel of design and comfort. It occupies the full width of the vessel and from the stern it has a 180 degree view of the ocean behind the ship. With its 46 square meters it is the largest room on board and surely one the larger suites available on any live-aboard in the world. The own en-suite bathroom offers a shower as well as a bath with ocean view. The suite has its own sitting area; a large corner sofa with a table made out of one piece of natural shaped teak.
Welcome on board for a dive live-aboard journey to a place of dazzling coral reefs, spectacular marine life, fierce dragons and smoking volcanoes, a real life “Jurassic Park” above and below the surface of the seas. This is Komodo, Indonesia, one of the last frontiers of the underwater world and a guaranteed dive adventure of a lifetime.
The Dewi Nusantara, is at the very forefront of live-aboard luxury and provides high quality dive trips to The Komodo National Park spectacular marine and topside locations.
While big fish and pelagics are the usual suspects in the Banda Islands, its true treasure is in the large variety and sheer volume of fish life, for both large and small marine life. Some of the creatures worthy of special attention, because they characterize the diving in the Banda Sea are the dogtooth tuna and mobula rays. At many of the dive sites you’ll see large schools of fusiliers and thousands of red tooth trigger fish. At the other end of the size scale, there are prolific mandarin fish and the native Ambon scorpion fish.
Cetaceans are frequent visitors too and sightings of spinner dolphins, orcas, and various whale species, including melonhead, pilot, blue, and humpback whales are common. It’s certain that you will see plenty of big stuff and there is no shortage of colorful reef life!
