Mario Cabading

Mario Cabading

Company co-owner Mario Cabading is and always has been responsible for the company's look and feel, working after hours behind the scenes - the place where he says he's most comfortable.

"I've always been the face of "STV Branding", so wearing many different hats has always come natural to me. Most days start off selling exciting and exotic worldwide destinations. But it doesn’t end there, most nights you can find Mario managing the website, creating newsletters and e-blasts, creative advertising, and developing marketing concepts. “Over the last 9 years we've grown well over 500 percent from the marketing side. Our need to constantly communicate with our database, develop new and creative marketing concepts and grow the business is what keeps the light on."

Certified in the caribbean in 1994, Mario continues to seek and visit new resorts and old friends. “There’s nothing better then seeking out new resorts and locations. A lot of "GEMS" are still out there and that makes my job one of the best anyone could have. Working with new resorts to deliver divers to the region has always been our focus."

Gene Dold

Gene Dold

“When I think about going on a dive trip, I get excited about what marine life I should expect to see. But I also like to learn about the location or geography of the destination and its people, culture and history. So for me, it’s fascinating to learn that the former British Colony of St. Lucia’s two main towns have French names, or why English is the primary language of Honduras’s Bay Islands, when the rest of the country speaks Spanish, or why North Sulawesi, in Indonesia, is primarily Christian in an otherwise Muslim country. My favorite destinations really are based upon my interests and mood at the time and what type of experience I am looking for and how long I have for travel. I thoroughly enjoy helping clients explore their world and meeting their needs.”

Gene was first introduced to the ocean in his youth, growing up on Catalina Island, where during the summers he regularly dived for coins. At 15, he got certified as a Junior Scuba Diver and later in his adulthood, he became a PADI Dive Master. He went on to become an Instructor and then went to work for STV.

Mike Arellano

Mike Arellano

“A dedicated employee for 12 years - does a little of everything at Scuba Travel Ventures. He sells travel packages, works some of the consumer shows, assists other STV travel specialists, and finds and develops new places to go diving.

But Mike has another great passion besides diving. While driving in California, Nevada or Arizona, in his silver Honda Ridgeline four-wheel drive pickup, if he spots any enticing dirt road off the blacktop, Mike takes it.

“I love off-roading,” says Mike, who grew up in Soledad, a small farming community in California’s Salinas Valley. “I’m a truck man. I don’t pull out a dune buggy, drive around in the sand and go home. I like to go hiking and climbing and explore nature. I learned to do that as a child, with my family.”

Family is of paramount importance to Mike. He has both a stepdaughter and biological daughter and five grandchildren, ranging from 8 months to 23 years old. At least three times a week, he says, he attends his grandkids’ soccer and baseball games.

Just as with his off-road adventures, Mike loves challenging his dive clients to go off the beaten path by booking trips to destinations rarely visited by Americans. “Going to places many people don’t know about, or places that aren’t really written about requires a real adventurous side,” Mike says. “I love exposing my clients to them.” Mike lists destinations in the South Pacific’s Melanesian corner – New Caledonia and Vanuatu – and the Tongan island of Eau as hot new diving frontiers. So if you ever call Mike about booking a dive vacation, expect this as his first question: “How adventurous do you want to be?”

Paul Cabading

Paul Cabading

Paul is one of STV’s newest agents. For years he has been behind the scenes at STV, helping as a Customer Service Rep, Group Trip Coordinator, Website and Social Media Lead, Airfare Specialist, and Trade Show Rep. With these different titles, plus doing his own scuba travel, it’s no surprise Paul has become a fantastic Dive Travel Specialist.

Initially focusing on Caribbean destinations, Paul is now sending divers all over the world; South East Asia, South Pacific, Central and South America, and even some exotic/remote locations.

“I work with scuba divers, who are planing their vacations… it doesn’t get any better!”

Paul was born and raised in San Diego, attended Long Beach State University, and now resides in the Los Angeles area. He has a passion for sports, just like diving, and grew up playing baseball, football, soccer, and basketball. Of course living in So Cal he also spent lots of time at the beach, in the water, and surfing. “Diving is much easier than any of those activities,” he jokes, “I don’t sweat when I dive."

Tiffany Geer

Tiffany Geer

An adventure seeker, world traveler, and passionate environmentalist, Tiffany intends to spend her life exploring this planet in order to embrace the most authentic cultural experiences and witness all that this world has to offer while trying to inspire others to do the same.

“I love working for STV because I get the opportunity to combine two of my main passions: traveling and scuba diving. I get to help people plan their adventures around the globe, defy human nature, and explore an alien-like world that too few of us ever embrace. Our customer’s satisfaction and happiness within their experience abroad fuels the fire in my soul to continue doing what I love.”

Tiffany was first scuba certified here in San Diego then earned her Advanced Open Water Diver certification while volunteering with an organization in Little Corn Island, Nicaragua in 2015. She has helped build artificial reefs in Nicaragua, explored cenotes in Mexico, and practiced Scubasana (yoga while scuba diving) in California. She never gets tired of spending time with her “fishie friends” and is always eager to hop back in the water. When she’s found on land, she loves spending time in nature, learning about other cultures, and meeting new people.

“Like my brother would say, ‘The world is literally at your feet.’”

Liz Tuttle

Liz Tuttle

The wanderlust spirit was sparked early in Liz’s life being raised a Navy brat. It has led her to explore many corners of the States, as well as parts of Western Europe, Mexico, Costa Rica, South Africa and Egypt. Her sense of adventure led her to racing cars on the local stock car track, ziplining, skydiving, and enjoying scenic rides in hot air balloons and helicopters. It was this very sense of adventure that led her to discover scuba, and the rest is history. She achieved her divemaster certification in 2008 and teamed up with her husband to introduce others to the wonderful world of diving.

Combining her love of diving with her love for exploring the world, Liz joined the STV team in 2011. She’s logged dives in her local waters of Southern California, as well as in exotic locations such as the Philippines, Micronesia, Indonesia, the waters of Baja and Cozumel, Mexico, and various destinations in the Caribbean. “It is these experiences and wanderlust I draw from to help my fellow divers to delve into their passions and dreams to create an unforgettable dive travel experience - no matter how long or short that journey may be. Always choose adventure!”
